Job Description:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Payments, the Product Manager, Payments is responsible for developing (or supporting the development of) strategies to acquire new business, enhance the existing business and drive profitability for the Payments business unit and for TDBG.
The successful candidate's accountabilities and responsibilities will include:
- Implement strategies and tactics as directed by people manager to maximize key financial and business measures (price, risk, NIAT, market share, revenue growth, expense management)
- Lead and develop business and expense planning/forecasting for the product/segment, and monitor results to plan
- Partner with distribution channels to ensure achievement of market share/sales objectives
- Monitor success against objectives, implement corrective action as necessary
- Act as Business Lead and/or SME for projects and campaigns and representing/making decisions on behalf of Payments product group
- Lead and facilitate the coordination and development of products/segments (features, benefits, characteristics, etc.) that meet customer needs
- As related to Payments marketing campaigns, implement and monitor product/segment performance against objectives, recommending enhancements to ensure a consistent customer & brand experience
- Lead coordination and implementation of changes on Payments products
- Collaborate with internal and external partners (IT, operations, risk, legal, compliance, marketing, etc.) to ensure our products meet TDBG objectives and standards
- Act as an expert payments consultant to our partners– providing insight and business expertise
- Research relevant market developments and bring pertinent knowledge to the Payments team (some travel may be required)
- People management and talent development
Job Requirements:
Preference will be given to applicants with previous Payments Product and P&L management experience. Knowledge of retail banking sales and service processes is also an asset.
The successful candidate will have:
- A deep understanding of the payments market and the pertinent industry players
- Previous product management experience is an asset
- Demonstrated the ability to deliver large, complex projects
- A creative mind and an ability to think outside the box to create new opportunities for our business
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to deliver actionable recommendations from analysis in a timely manner
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships
- Comfort working with financial models
- Experience leading and managing work streams/campaigns/projects
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Flexibility to adapt and manage within a fast-paced, dynamic business environment
- Ability to prioritize and multitask, working both independently and within a team environment
- Post-secondary degree in Business or related field
- MBA preferred
